I’m Famous!

Several years ago my cousin Berni Frees and her husband Rocky tried out the fulltime RV lifestyle for a while and we spent some wonderful times together on the road. Early on, we were all sitting under their motorhome’s awning at Elkhart Campground and somebody came by with a copy of one of my RV books and asked for my autograph. Berni was so impressed that she had to call her sister and say, “Guess what? Nick’s famous! People ask him for his autograph!” (Berni doesn’t get out much.) :)

Well, I may not have actually been famous then, but I am now! I know because I am featured in the new book Interviews With Indie Authors, and right there on the back of the book it says “Interviews with 34 of the hottest names in self-publishing.” And it only took me 60 years and nine books to become an overnight success. I always knew I would make it someday. After all, I’ve been a legend in my own mind for years. :)

Indie book

Actually, Interviews With Indie Authors is an excellent look at the independent publishing movement, featuring interviews with some of the top names in the industry, including C.J. Lyons, Michael Prescott, Terri Reid, Russell Blake, Kristi Ashley, and Hugh Howey, to name just a few. (I’m still not sure how I got included in that illustrious lineup.) If you have any interest in the future of publishing, order a copy today. There is a lot of invaluable information shared within its covers. The book is available in both printed and e-book format.

Speaking of books, here is a sneak peak at the cover of my new book, Crazy Days in Big Lake. If all goes well, it will be through final editing and will be published in the next week or two.

Crazy Days6

In the meantime, here is the book blurb that will appear on Amazon: Everybody seems to have gone crazy in the little mountain community of Big Lake, Arizona. Neighbors are threatening violence, eco-protestors are on the march, flower children are camping in the nearby forest, two of Sheriff Jim Weber’s deputies have gotten into a fistfight in the ButterCup Café, the grocery store manager has locked himself in his office and won’t come out, bears are chasing dogs into houses, and somebody has stolen the town’s mascot. As if that isn’t enough to deal with, a mild mannered retired couple have shot an intruder during a home invasion. By the time this wild tale is finished, more blood will be shed and the good people of Big Lake will be left wondering just how well they really know their neighbors.

On a different topic, Dennis Haddix from Makarios RV said that he and Claudia will once again be vending at our Ohio Gypsy Journal Rally, and that if anybody needs to purchase anything from their extensive line of RV products, they will bring the items to the rally to save the shipping charges when purchasing online. Be sure to check out their website at http://www.makariosrv.com/. Dennis and Claudia are super people and really dedicated to their customers. They’ll treat you right.

Thought For The Day – I’m fat because a tiny body could not possibly hold all of this wonderful personality!
